Helping Others

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Today we celebration the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  It is the 25th anniversary of the first national celebration of his birthday in the USA.  Many celebrate with outreach, ceremonies, and remembrance dedications throughout the USA.  Taken from the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is ‘What are you doing for others?’”

Have you asked this specific question in the past?  Have you asked yourself what will I do in 2020 for the love of Christ and His kingdom? Today, determine what your answer is.  The Lord has been good to his Saints, and we should be compelled to honor Him by being obedient to His Word.

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them”       ~ Hebrews 6:10 (NIV)

Commit to the Word of God to work in the fields, and love your fellow man.  The bottom line is to extend a helping hand instead of just claiming “what I cannot do” or “I do not know what to do.”  Do as your heart leads you to do, and do it honorably.  The year 2020 is your year to do better than you have in the past.  Seek a new method of thinking that includes listening to God’s request, and taming your flesh yield to the Word.

It’s A New Year

Happy New Year to all striving to be the best you in Christ in the coming years.  Everyone should be moving into a new realm of your spiritual life.  What are you looking to do and desire to achieve with Christ?  Leaving the old and embracing the new.

“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
                                                ~ Ephesians 4: 22-24   (NIV)

Leave the things of the past behind, learn from the mistakes of the past and put your efforts into doing better than yesterday. You are only as good as you take in from Christ. Shed the old things of sorrow, deceit and disobedience.  Redress your mind and spirit with joy, peace, love and compassion.  Pray for strength, God’s wisdom and guidance as you move through your journey.  Remember you can do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13, NIV).  It all starts with you and allowing Christ to be your covering.  You are blessed in the name of Jesus Christ.
